Hello to all! I just found out my first student teaching placement and I am super excited and a little bit nervous! I will be in Cedar Rapids teaching kindergarten at a title I school. To educate you all on what a title I school is, it is a school that has at least 40% students coming from a low income family. I am really excited for this experience and everything is has to offer. I am sure I will learn a TON of stuff! I am nervous however because since I have been at Iowa State I have not worked with students younger than fifth grade. That is a huge age gap! I still have yet to find out what age I will be teaching in New Zealand, but I am VERY excited to find out that one too! Hopefully it will be soon.. :)
I have so much end of the year stuff to catch up on in these next two weeks. I am so excited for summer, only 16 more days! I can't believe it, only two weeks until my last summer as a college student. I am determined to make it the best summer yet. I will mostly be in Ames working at Bath and Body Works and then I will move back to Monticello on July 18th. While I am really sad to be leaving my home of the past four years, I have to admit I am a little excited to move back home and save some mula! I am sure after a couple weeks I will be missing Ames terribly, but I'll be back to visit often.
Until my next post, stay happy!

Cake for Breakfast!
Happy Saturday! It's the final countdown for my last semester in Ames and it is going to be busy, so I thought I should take a break and eat some chocolate cake for breakfast.
Of course the end of the semester is always the busiest and on top of that next week is VEISHEA! But let's be honest, no matter how busy I am, VEISHEA is going to be amazing. This year I only have one friend coming up (that I know of) and that is Katie. I think that is my favorite part of the week, when Katie comes, Ames is always better with her in it!
After VEISHEA things really kick into gear, which leaves me no time to work, which leaves me broke. (I have learned cause and effect very well) Here is the run down of my week; Monday- Dance, Tuesday- FIND OUT STUDENT TEACHING PLACEMENT (que the fireworks), Wednesday- Night class, Thursday- Dance, again, Friday- Home for Easter. See, no time to work. I will be taking donations!
Four weeks, and that is it. I will be done with classes at Iowa State. Ekk, what a crazy thought! Student teaching here I come...

Blog Overload...
I may just be the most random blogger, sometimes I go a week without getting on and today I blog twice. I just couldn't hold back my excitement about my sweet, new dry erase board. After about an hour in Hobby Lobby, I finally picked out some super cute stuff to make a dry erase board. I only needed to get two things, fabric and an 8x10 frame and it cost me less than $10, not too shabby! Here is the finished project folks!
And a little closer....
I am really proud of my flower, I have found tons of great tutorials on how to do these and they seemed easy, but I wasn't so sure at first. Turned out to be really easy and really cute! I want to make some hair clips out of them for my cousins/friend's babies :) Here are a couple close-ups! (Ignore the awesome dent in the wall.... the joys of a college apartment!)
Can't Stop Crafting!
My good friend Chelsea has introduced me to the wonderful worlds of crafting and blogging and I can't get enough! I have fallen in love with modge podge and have made quite a few picture frames and a fun plaque for my mom. I have been meaning to post a picture of it so here it is!
I found the idea for this project here. Her's was a little different but same idea. I love this blog! She has so many cute projects and some good tutorials! Tonight I am going to make a really simple dry erase board. I am excited to see how that one turns out. I can't remember where I got the idea, but I will be sure to post picture!
I love crafting, but I am not so good with coming up with my own ideas. Here are some of the blogs I look at a tone and some of the projects I really want to do! Enjoy...

Also, I have a great site while searching for diet friendly food. I have tried many of these recipes and all have been super easy and so YUMMY! Definitely a great spot to check out! The Skinny Taste

Things I am Most Excited For!
Well it has been quiet a while since I have blogged so I thought I better get back on and keep you updated. Unfortunately I haven't been up to anything exciting lately with the exception of school and dance. So today I thought I would tell you the top 10 things I am looking forward to... enjoy!
1) To be done with classes. I shouldn't have finals this year so it looks like I only have FOUR weeks left on ISU campus, sad but exciting. I feel like I still have so much left to get done!
2) VEISHEA! This will be my fifth VEISHEA and the first that I have been 21. I can't wait to have a carefree weekend with all of my Iowa State and high school friends :)
3) Going home for Easter. I love getting to see my family and my friend's daughter is turning one.
4) Megan coming home! My best friend has been in Florence, Italy since January and she is coming home in 41 days! Needless to say I am super excited. We talk almost everyday but I am ready for a Megan/Michelle reunion!!!
5) VIVA LAS VEGAS!!! I am heading to Vegas for the first time over Memorial Day weekend. I am sooo excited. I am going with one of my best friends so I know it will be a blast!
6) Spending time with my friends in Ames ALL summer! I am super sad to be leaving in August, but I am excited to get the most out of my last few months in Ames!
7) Student teaching. I can't wait to get in the classroom and see what's up first in Cedar Rapids then in New Zealand! I am over taking classes, let me teach them...
8) Texas. Lucky me, having family in Texas means an extra little trip for my cousin's wedding over Labor Day weekend. So excited to see my family who I haven't seen in a year now!
9) New Zealand!!! If you have read my blog or facebook you should know that I am student teaching in NZ for 8 weeks. I am so excited for this amazing opportunity! I have never been out of the country before so this is more then exciting for me and I am lucky to have some great travel buddies! :)
10) And last but not least, trip number two to Vegas! As if I wasn't lucky enough with all my upcoming travel plans I will be headed back to Vegas for New Years Eve 2012. My roomie/best friend's 21st birthday in on New Year's Day and her dad has been wanting to do this trip forever. I can't think of a better way to celebrate a birthday and NYE!
